Royal Sable is a medium colored, larger grained granite that lends itself well to shadow or frosted outline lettering for surnames. Sunken lettering in a frosted panel is most often used for individual names. Using frosted outline for individual names can create issues with retaining the finer details of the individual letters. The larger graining can, but not always, flake to some extent. While it does not ruin the lettering, it can detract from it's aesthetic beauty. If Royal Sable granite is selected, this is a detail to keep in mind.
